General Description:

Bottom-dump barge is vessel with an open bottom and no enclosed compartments or deck. There is also a large 'hopper door' that opens downwards at the bottom of the ship. When the ship is moving, the door is closed so that the materials to be dumped can be transported. When the ship arrives at the dumping site, the door will open.

Bottom-dump barge is mainly used for transporting bulk cargo such as sand, mud, ore, etc.
